Paddy McNair joins Middlesbrough on a four-year deal from relegated Sunderland.

Paddy McNair has completed his move from Sunderland to Middlesbrough.

The Northern Ireland international has signed a four-year deal with Boro to become their first summer signing ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Boro landed the 23-year-old for an undisclosed fee, but previous reports suggest that their bid was in the region of £5m.

Capped 20 times for Northern Ireland, McNair made 18 appearances for Sunderland last season, netting five times in the Championship.

Brighton & Hove Albion are said to have lodged two unsuccessful bids for the midfielder before Sunderland reached an agreement with Boro.
