Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Bordeaux

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Marseille vs. Bordeaux.

Angers vs. Lyon (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Seeking their first win of the new Ligue 1 season at the second attempt, Lyon travel to the Stade Raymond Kopa to take on Angers on Sunday lunchtime.

Les Scoistes' opening game of the season ended in a 2-0 success over Strasbourg, while Lyon could only play out a 1-1 draw with Brest.

We say: Angers 1-2 Lyon

With several more top-class options to choose from for gameweek two - barring any late fitness issues - Lyon supporters will be praying that it is second time lucky for their team after Slimani bailed them out of trouble last week.

Angers could also elect to call upon more experience this week after their teenagers produced the goods against Strasbourg, but their record against Lyon does not make for positive reading, and we can only back Bosz to get off the mark with Les Gones and claim a narrow win.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Reims vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 2.00pm)

After extending their unbeaten streak in Ligue 1 openers to six, Reims look to build momentum as they welcome Montpellier HSC to the Stade Auguste-Delaune II on Sunday.

The hosts had the better opening weekend, but Montpellier will be eager to get some points on the board in a clash that has not been overly kind to them in recent years.

We say: Reims 1-1 Montpellier HSC

Reims offered next to nothing going forward against Nice, but Montpellier's lack of a convincing defence gives them a chance. The visitors were gutted to have been pegged back by Marseille and with Savanier back their gung-ho style should earn them at least a point here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Brest vs. Rennes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Brest take on Rennes in the second game of the new Ligue 1 season on Sunday, with the hosts hoping to build on a strong draw with Lyon during the opening weekend.

The visitors were less satisfied with a draw of their own, as they failed to impress during a 1-1 stalemate at home to Lens, and will now be hoping to kickstart their season at the second attempt.

We say: Brest 1-2 Rennes

Brest will have some self-belief after the draw with Lyon, but the youthful pace and trickery of Doku and Sulemana on the wings may just see them come undone and should be enough to earn Rennes their first win of the season.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Nantes vs. Metz (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Nantes welcome Metz to the Stade de la Beaujoire for the second game of this new Ligue 1 season in what is, at this point in time, a mid-table clash.

Both sides will have been pleased with promising draws during the opening weekend, though, and will now be aiming to make it a win this time out.

We say: Nantes 0-0 Metz

With the return of Chirivella and the absence of Kouyate, Metz will be up against it. The impact of those two late goals could either fire them up or discourage them, whilst Nantes have not managed a win against their opponents since September 2017, so it is probably easiest to go with the form book and predict a dull 0-0 on this occasion.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Clermont vs. Troyes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

It is a battle of the Ligue 1 new boys on Sunday, as last year's Ligue 2 rivals Clermont and Troyes face off again - but this time at the top table.

On paper at least, it is a battle between top of the league and a team in the relegation zone, after the two sides' respective results on the opening weekend, but expect a closely fought game at the Stade Gabriel Montpied.

We say: Clermont 1-0 Troyes

Clermont look unstoppable at the moment and have the better record in the recent meetings between two. It will likely be a tight and edgy game - with both teams aware of the importance of a good result - but the home side should have enough to claim three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Lens vs. St Etienne (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Lens play host to Saint-Etienne on Sunday afternoon looking to build on their opening-day draw at Ligue 1 rivals Rennes.

Meanwhile, Saint-Etienne are coming off the back of a comeback draw with Lorient, leading to calls for improvement ahead of their visit to Estadio Bollaert-Delelis.

We say: Lens 2-1 Saint-Etienne

Both teams have ambitions of challenging for European qualification this season, upping the stakes even at this early stages of the campaign. While Saint-Etienne are well equipped to claim a share of the spoils, we are backing Lens to battle their way to a narrow win.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Marseille vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Fresh from an enthralling but stop-start opening day victory over Montpellier HSC, Marseille return to the Orange Velodrome on Sunday for gameweek two of Ligue 1 against Bordeaux.

In contrast, Les Girondins' fortunes are simply going from bad to worse following defeat to newly-promoted Clermont Foot 63 during their inaugural game of the season.

We say: Marseille 3-1 Bordeaux

Bordeaux were simply devoid of any and all attacking inspiration during the opening weekend, but the return of Hwang brings with it an added dimension to the visitors' frontline.

Marseille have no such problems in the final third after a stellar summer of recruitment, and with two key defenders also back in the fold, we can only back Sampaoli's men to maintain their 100% record with relative ease.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
