Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that the club remain in contract talks with Paul Pogba's representatives.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the club remain in talks with Paul Pogba's representatives over a potential new deal at Old Trafford.

The France international starred in his side's 2021-22 season opener against Leeds United last weekend, providing four assists in a 5-1 victory for the 20-time English champions.

Pogba's future at the club remains unclear, though, as his current contract is due to expire next June.

Solskjaer has said that he is currently focusing on matters on the field with the World Cup winner while the club continue talks with his agent Mino Raiola.

"That's negotiations with Paul's representatives and the club. For me, me and Paul work together every day and we keep on trying to improve, improve the team and to enjoy ourselves when we just have to make sure we don't make this one game and everyone flies off on it with the big headlines and the praise we get," Solskjaer told reporters ahead of Sunday's clash with Southampton.

"It's about bringing the energy and being even better. One swallow never makes a summer."

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are both said to be hoping to sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
