Paris Saint-Germain's new head coach Christophe Galtier confirms that he intends to keep hold of star forward Neymar, amid links with the likes of Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain's new head coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that he intends to keep hold of star forward Neymar, amid links with the likes of Chelsea.

The 30-year-old's future in the French capital has recently been questioned, with one report claiming that the Ligue 1 champions are willing to entertain offers for the Brazilian this summer.

Neymar is allegedly open to seeking pastures new, with Premier League quartet Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United all understood to have made enquiries over the player's availability.

However, Galtier – who was officially unveiled as Mauricio Pochettino's successor on Tuesday – revealed at a press conference his desire to keep Neymar at the Parc des Princes.

"Which coach would not want to have him in their team? I have an idea of exactly what I expect from him. I hope that he stays with us," said the 55-year-old.

The Evening Standard reports that Neymar's representatives approached Chelsea's new owner Todd Boehly over a proposed move to Stamford Bridge this summer, but it remains to be seen whether the £190m-rated forward will head to West London.

Neymar, who still has five years remaining on his PSG contract, has recorded 100 goals and 60 assists in 144 appearances for the French giants across all competitions.
