RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has played down rumours that the German club have agreed to sell Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a big-money move to the Etihad Stadium throughout this summer, with Pep Guardiola understood to have identified the defender as his primary target.

Talks have taken place between the two teams and Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl confirmed earlier this month that Gvardiol has informed the club of his desire to join Man City this summer, stating that the defender "will end up in Pep's strong hands."

Man City are believed to have been locked in negotiations with Leipzig for some time over a transfer fee, with the Bundesliga club refusing to lower their €100m (£85.4m) valuation of the Croatia international.

Newport sign Seb Palmer-Houlden on loan from Bristol City

"Bring it on. I can't wait to start the season."

"He is a good size and has a good physique to match it. We were lacking in that position (forward), so I'm glad we can bring Seb in to help fill it. We hope to have Omar Bogle back in training this week and then between him and Kiban they'll battle it out as to who will best partner Omar.

Walsall bring in Harry Williams from Alvechurch

"I'm really pleased to sign for Walsall," he told the club website.

"I've had a couple of games and I've really enjoyed the training so I'm happy to be here. The lads and the head coach have welcomed me and accepted me straight from the start, it feels like a family club.

"The main thing that struck me was the togetherness of the group and you can see that in the first couple of games. We've had two positive results against Leamington and we took that into the game against Aston Villa so hopefully we can build on that momentum and have a successful season.

"It's a massive opportunity and I want to develop myself as a player and whatever opportunity I get, I'm going to give my best for the team and the gaffer."

Manager Mat Sadler added: "I'm really pleased to sign Harry. Harry has had a really strong season at Alvechurch. The links we have to the local non-league scene alerted me to him and he's been with us for the last 10 days.

"Myself and others at the football club have got fantastic links with local non-league clubs. I've been listening and looking out for young, hidden gems coming up and I feel Harry fits that profile.

"We really thank Alvechurch, Mark Fogarty and the board of directors there for allowing us to have him with us and during that time we feel he has gone from strength to strength.

"He's got a lot of ability and it's a fantastic opportunity for him and for us to have him in the building. Not only has he earned the contract, he's really improved and shown he can cope with the levels that we train at and he impacts the training sessions.

"He's desperate to improve, desperate to get better and that's the mentality we want at the football club. We look forward to seeing him develop."

    Morecambe announce two new signings

Morecambe have brought in two players today - Jacob Davenport on a one-year deal and Tom Bloxham on loan from Shrewsbury!

"This is a new chapter for me. I have come in over the last week or so and really enjoyed it. There is a good group in the changing room and a group I think I will enjoy being part of over the course of the season," Davenport told the club website.

"It's been a tough couple of years but hopefully now I can be a bit more settled here and kick on. This is a club that has proven that it can take in younger players like myself and help us to develop which is a big attraction for me."

Manager Derek Adams adeed: "Jacob is a player with quality who needs to find a settled place to play after a couple of years of moving around. He has done well since coming in over the last week and we are pleased to add him to our group for the season ahead."

"It's clear to see Jacob's pedigree from his journey to date. He is still only 24-years-old so has his best years ahead of him and hopefully we can help him achieve his potential."

"I am excited for this challenge. I wanted to come and test myself in a different environment this season and I am looking forward to being part of the Morecambe squad for the League Two campaign," Bloxham said

"The Manager and staff have put together a very good group of players here this summer and it's a group I am really pleased to be joining and I am eager to make sure I can add to the quality already in the building."

Derek Adams added: "Tom is a player we were aware of in League One and somebody we kept an eye on and tracked. When we knew there was a possibility this could happen, we were keen to accelerate that process and bring Tom to Morecambe for the season. I also have to thank Shrewsbury Town for working with us to make this happen."

Luton sign Marvelous Nakamba from Aston Villa

Marvelous Nakamba has return to Luton, and this time it is a permanent deal, signing a three-year contract at Kenilworth Road.

"I'm very excited to be back home at Luton to continue the journey," he told the club's website.

"When I joined on loan, I felt love from everyone – the manager, the board, the staff, the players and the fans. I was welcomed as part of the family and that pushed me to give everything for this club and help achieve the goal we had last season, which we did.

"The fans really welcomed me and made me feel energised and motivated to do well, so it was unbelievable to pay them back in way that we did. To see them at Wembley celebrating brought tears of joy. It was real love.

"Over the summer the manager has been saying 'you need to be here!' and I'm so happy, so excited to now be back and ready for the season."

Manager Rob Edwards added: "We – the supporters, the board, the staff and the players – all fell in love with Marv for what he gave us. Not just his work ethic, but his humility. He's so unassuming; he just slotted in from day one and it felt like he had been at Luton for 10 years.

"I think he felt that love. Everyone felt that he enjoyed himself and that it felt like home for him. That's why it is special because he felt it was right, he felt comfortable, at home – and now he is.

"As a footballer, he was the glue that knitted us together. He allowed everyone to do their jobs. There were quotes out there last season saying it was like having three of him on the pitch at times – he covered every blade of grass.

"A massive thank you to Gary and the board, they've worked so hard on this, and to Aston Villa for making it happen. It's a huge statement for the club going forward. To bring in a player of his quality on a permanent transfer speaks volumes of where this football club is going, how ambitious we are and where we intend to go.

"We want to keep moving forward, it's really exciting times and Marv is another addition, together with the ones we brought in, that I think are really going to improve us."

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he is planning to have Harry Kane at the tip of his attack next season amid the uncertainty surrounding the striker's future.

The England captain's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire next June, and he is currently being heavily linked with a move away from the North London club.

Spurs are unlikely to sanction a sale to a Premier League club, which has seen Manchester United cool their interest, while Real Madrid have allegedly decided against a summer move.

Bayern Munich have emerged as the clear favourites for the 29-year-old, who is believed to be open to making the move to Allianz Arena during the summer market.

However, according to Football Insider, Spurs are also in the hunt for the England international, with the club's new head coach Ange Postecoglu viewing the midfielder as a priority target.

The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium, joining the Cherries for an undisclosed fee thought to be worth more than £15m.

Kerkez was reportedly on the verge of joining Lazio before Bournemouth swooped and offered him the chance to play Premier League football next season.

The left-back has now become the club's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Justin Kluivert and Romain Faivre.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney if Harry Kane leaves the club this summer.

On the back of a record-breaking campaign for club and country, Kane's future is once again the subject of much speculation ahead of the expiry of his contract in 2024.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the 29-year-old, but only the latter team are thought to be left in the race for his signature.

Bayern have apparently failed with two offers for Kane, who Spurs chairman Daniel Levy insists is still not for sale this summer, in spite of his uncertain contract situation.

Barcelona are reportedly discussing a surprise move for Arsenal midfielder Miguel Azeez.

The 20-year-old is yet to make his mark with the Gunners' first team under Mikel Arteta and has also struggled to impress during loan spells with Portsmouth, UD Ibiza and Wigan Athletic.

After making 11 appearances for Ibiza during the first half of the 2022-23 season, Azeez joined then-Championship club Wigan but endured a forgettable period under Shaun Maloney.

The England Under-20 international featured in back-to-back games under Kolo Toure, but after the ex-Arsenal defender was given the boot at the end of January, he did not play another minute in a Wigan jersey.

Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close eye on the progress of Lyon defender Abdoulaye Ndiaye.

The 21-year-old departed Sacre-Cœur in his native Senegal in 2020 to join the Lyon academy ranks and enjoyed a productive loan spell with Bastia in the 2022-23 campaign.

During his brief stint in the second division, Ndiaye scored one goal and provided two assists from the heart of defence, helping Bastia finish fourth in the table.

Ndiaye is yet to make his senior competitive debut for Lyon, but the 2002-born centre-back has played 17 times for their B team and made the bench three times under Rudi Garcia during the 2020-21 season.
