Manchester United have been told that they could be left short of Cristiano Ronaldo replica shirts, according to a report.
As well as being an important signing for the Red Devils on the pitch, the Portuguese international is also a big commercial pull for the club.
It was announced on Thursday that Ronaldo has been given his iconic number seven shirt, with previous incumbent Edinson Cavani switching to number 21.
However, the Independent states that some fans could be left waiting for their replica shirts due to Covid-influenced delays in Adidas' supply line.
The report adds that the sportswear company have been experiencing a significant slowdown in production due to the closure of factories in Vietnam, a country which usually accounts for 28% of Adidas' total production.
There were plans in place to deal with this, but Ronaldo's arrival at Old Trafford has increased demand for replica shirts.
An Adidas spokesman told the Independent: "We are working in collaboration with MUFC to try and meet exceptionally high fan demand for our new designs but expect low availability of certain products."
Ronaldo is set to make his second debut for Man United against Newcastle United on September 11 after being released from international duty early by Portugal.
