Manchester United could break Arsenal's Invincibles record of 27 consecutive away games unbeaten if they avoid defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Manchester United could make history during this afternoon's Premier League showdown with Wolverhampton Wanderers as they look to set a new English Football League record of consecutive away games unbeaten.

The Red Devils have not lost on the road since January 2020 - a run of 27 games which includes 17 wins and 10 draws.

The latest of those - a 1-1 draw with Southampton last weekend - saw them equal the all-time record for the longest unbeaten away streak ever seen in English football, initially set by Arsenal's Invincibles from April 2003 to September 2004.

That run, as well as Arsenal's record 49-game unbeaten streak home and away, was eventually ended by Manchester United in a memorable 2-0 win at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils now have the chance to usurp the Gunners as holders of the away record.

A draw or win against Wolves at Molineux this afternoon would see them extend their run to 28 games, an unprecedented feat in the history of English football.

Man United have picked up four points from their opening two games so far, while Wolves are still yet to register a point or a goal in the new Premier League season.

The match will also be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 100th Premier League game in charge of Man United, and the first since the 20-time champions confirmed the return of Cristiano Ronaldo.
