How Manchester City could line up against Lyon

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up against Lyon in Saturday's Champions League quarter-final in Lisbon.

After knocking out perennial winners Real Madrid in the last 16, Manchester City now turn focus to Saturday's Champions League quarter-final tie with Lyon.

The Citizens enter the match as favourites but have progressed from just one of their previous three games at this stage.

Pep Guardiola has some big selection calls to make this weekend in every department of the field, with City's focus now solely on UEFA's elite club competition.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how City could line up against Juventus' conquerors Lyon.

Out: Sergio Aguero (knee)

Gabriel Jesus has been in good form for City in the Champions League this term, scoring and assisting a combined nine goals, and will continue to lead the line in Sergio Aguero's absence.

Sticking with the forward line, Riyad Mahrez is in contention to return alongside Jesus and Raheem Sterling, with Phil Foden - used as a false nine against Real Madrid - expected to drop to the bench.

Guardiola also has a tough call to make at left-back, where Benjamin Mendy is back from suspension, but Joao Cancelo may get the nod to start again following the win against Madrid.

Kevin De Bruyne and Rodrigo seem certain to retain their central-midfield berths, meanwhile, though Ilkay Gundogan's place is under threat as David Silva and Bernardo Silva are pushing for recalls.

Elsewhere, Fernandinho will continue to fill in at centre-back alongside Aymeric Laporte due to a lack of any other real options.
