Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp rules out the possibility of his side making any more new signings in the current transfer window.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the prospect of his side making any more summer signings without dire need.

The Reds were incredibly active during the earliest days of the summer transfer window and brought in Darwin Nunez as a marquee signing from Benfica.

The 22-year-old - who arrived in a £65m deal that may eventually fetch £85m - could ultimately surpass Virgil van Dijk as the Reds' most expensive signing in history with add-ons.

Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have also arrived from Fulham and Aberdeen respectively to bolster the youthful, home-grown ranks on the red half of Merseyside.

Klopp's side have been tipped to move for a new midfielder before the 2022-23 season kicks off, but the Liverpool boss is not expecting any more faces through the door.

"Unless we have injuries or player sales no, we have our squad. Hopefully, there won't be any so Liverpool supporters can focus on other things," Klopp told Sky Sports News. "I don't talk about these things you know that. Look at the results, not the process - don't forget!"

Klopp was also quizzed on the transfer business of Liverpool's fellow Big Six members and does not believe that any club has made a "massive mistake", in spite of Manchester City allowing Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Oleksandr Zinchenko to leave for direct rivals.

"I cannot say the others have so far made a massive mistake in the transfer market. It was clear before that Tottenham were going in the right direction last season with their signings. Man City haven't just brought in players, they've given two to Arsenal and one to Chelsea," Klopp added.

"We're in a similar situation where you can't always go with the same team. You need fresh blood and fresh legs. City are in a similar situation to us and we did it in a similar way.

"In the end, they will all have fantastic football players like we will. It's the question of who makes the most of it. Everybody has the same chance. We will try to give it our all. The main target in this league first and foremost always is to qualify for the Champions League which is really difficult enough already.

"When you reach that, and then there's still time to compete for the title, you do that. When you've qualified for it four, five years in a row people may not appreciate that anymore but it will be a massive fight for the Champions League places.

"Everyone wants to win the Premier League but I have no idea who will make the race. We're looking to play the best possible season for us and we're really looking forward to it."

Liverpool have also allowed a plethora of players to depart this summer, namely Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino, Neco Williams, Ben Davies, Divock Origi and Loris Karius.

Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham is understood to be a priority target for the midfield, but Liverpool will likely have to wait until 2023 before attempting to sign the 19-year-old.

Nunez hit four of Liverpool's five goals in Thursday's 5-0 win over RB Leipzig, and Liverpool will continue their pre-season preparations against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.
