Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool will be looking to move to the top of the Premier League table when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

The injury-ravaged Reds made light of their absentees with a 3-0 win over Leicester City last weekend, putting them level on points with leaders Tottenham Hotspur but with an inferior goal difference.

However, they were below par en route to a home Champions League defeat at the hands of Atalanta BC in midweek and face a quick turnaround to take on a Brighton side that beat Aston Villa last time out.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this contest.

Virgil van Dijk

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Virgil van Dijk is likely to miss the remainder of this season with a knee injury sustained in the Merseyside derby last month, although he has now undergone a successful operation on the problem.

Naby Keita

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Brighton)

Naby Keita picked up a hamstring injury against Leicester last weekend and missed the midweek defeat to Atalanta as a result. Jurgen Klopp is yet to reveal the full extent of the midfielder's injury, but he is highly unlikely to feature this weekend.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Brighton)

Thiago Alcantara has also been sidelined since the Merseyside derby and is not yet back in team training. Klopp revealed that his return is "not too far anymore" but it is unlikely that he will recover in time for this match.

Jordan Henderson

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Brighton)

Jordan Henderson is another to have a question mark hanging over his head for this match. The captain pulled out of the England squad during the recent international break and has not featured since due to a thigh problem, although he was back in full training on Thursday and so could be involved in some capacity.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Joe Gomez will miss a large chunk of the season after suffering a serious knee injury while training with England. A return at some stage this term could be possible, but that will not happen any time soon.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Brighton)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continues to step up his recovery from a long-term knee injury which has prevented him from featuring at all yet this season and, while this match may come too soon for him, it should not be too much longer before he is available again.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Possible return date: December 5 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)
