Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker insists that he will always go up for corners if needed after his winner against West Bromwich Albion last season.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has insisted that he will always go up the other end of the field for corners if needed.

The Brazil international made history with a 95th-minute winner against West Bromwich Albion last May - becoming the first Liverpool goalkeeper in history to score for the club and only the sixth in the Premier League.

Peter Schmeichel, Brad Friedel, Paul Robinson, Tim Howard and Asmir Begovic represent the other five goalkeepers to have scored in the Premier League, and Alisson would not hesitate to get in the opposition penalty box again.

"If it is needed, it is clear now that I am going up! Normally, it is the boss who decides if I go up or not. But against WBA, John Achterberg called me to go," Alisson told reporters ahead of Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg with Benfica.

"I hope that it's not necessary but if needed, we will try what we have. If they call me, I go. If not, we have enough players to score. No problem."

Alisson's header against West Brom at The Hawthorns was the first winning goal scored by a goalkeeper in the Premier League, while Hans-Jorg Butt, Sinan Bolat and Vincent Enyeama are the three goalkeepers to have scored a goal in the Champions League.
