Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy admits that his form needs to improve in order to be included in England's World Cup squad.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has admitted that his form has "slowed a bit" in a recent dry spell.

The 30-year-old has found the back of the net six times in 11 Premier League games for the Foxes, but he has only scored once in his last six outings in all competitions.

With the 2018 World Cup in Russia on the horizon, Vardy will try to make an impression on England manager Gareth Southgate in upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

"I think [my form] started off alright and kind of slowed a bit," the Daily Star quotes the striker as saying. "I know first and foremost I've got to be doing well for my club to be within a chance of being selected.

"I've got to put in all my effort for Leicester when I am obviously not on international breaks and hopefully my performances will make me warrant that place."

England will face Germany at Wembley on Friday.
