Cristiano Ronaldo matches Ali Daei's record of 109 international goals after scoring twice for Portugal in their Euro 2020 draw with France on Wednesday.

Portugal attacker Cristiano Ronaldo equalled Ali Daei's long-standing record of 109 international goals with his brace in Wednesday's Euro 2020 draw with France.

The Juventus man has made his presence felt at this summer's tournament, and he struck a brace of penalties against France during their final game of the group of death as both sides progressed following a 2-2 draw.

In doing so, Ronaldo chalked up international goal number 109 on Wednesday evening, matching the record set by former Iran forward Daei, whose international career came to an end in 2006.

The 36-year-old also surpassed Miroslav Klose as the player with the most goals at the Euros and World Cup combined (20) and he broke Michel Platini's European Championship goalscoring record during their victory over Hungary earlier in the tournament.

Ronaldo struck five goals in total during Portugal's three games in Group F, and the reigning champions will now meet Belgium in the last-16 stage on June 27.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's club future continues to be called into question, though, and Juve have supposedly drawn up a seven-man shortlist of possible replacements should he leave Turin this summer.
