Alvaro Morata has expressed his eagerness to link up with Chelsea after a deal was agreed for his transfer from Real Madrid.

The Blues are on the verge of wrapping up the Spaniard's signing, with just personal terms and a medical left to be completed.

Chelsea are believed to be paying £75m for Morata, the striker expected to be a direct replacement for compatriot Diego Costa, who is surplus to Antonio Conte's requirements.

Morata told Marca: "I am very happy, God willing, tomorrow I will be at Chelsea, a club that has always loved me. I'm not disappointed, for nothing, I've won four titles here, but now I only think of putting on the Chelsea shirt."

The 24-year-old also praised the Bernabeu faithful, adding: "Thank you very much to all the Madridistas who have supported me once more, I will always wish the best to Madrid. I am happy to have shared team with these teammates, the last time I wore this shirt was in Cibeles."

Morata scored 20 goals in 39 appearances for Los Blancos last season.
