Burnley boss Sean Dyche says that his team will not be spending freely this summer despite securing Europa League football for next season.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has insisted that his team will not be spending freely in this summer's transfer window despite securing Europa League football for the 2018-19 campaign.

Burnley's seventh-place finish in the Premier League means that the Clarets will be able to offer potential transfer targets European football next season.

Dyche, however, has said that he will be looking to sign a certain type of player to fit the club's style.

"Ideally you want players who are either showing signs to be hungry enough for the challenge to mature into us, the obvious ones such as James Tarkowski and Nick Pope," Dyche told Sky Sports News.

"Or with players who have been there, seen it and done it slightly. When you think about people like Jack Cork coming into our side, he got an England cap this year. He played every single minute of our Premier League season, this season, you know we need that mixture of people who are hungry and thirsty are only going to get better and improve.

"Some of the players have been there, done it slightly and can actually know what it [Europe] is and what it offers. We are open minded about that.

"Weirdly, there is a reality to our market, it is very difficult, we are not powerful enough to just walk into every situation and make sure it happens but we think we can make sure enough happens."

Scott Arfield and Dean Marney have both already left Burnley this summer.
