Goals from Mattia Destro and Luca Rossettini see Bologna lead Napoli 2-0 at the interval of their Serie A clash on Sunday afternoon.

Strugglers Bologna are currently leading high-flying Napoli 2-0 at the interval of their Serie A clash on Sunday afternoon.

The first scoring chance of the match came in the seventh minute when Franco Brienza sent a wonderful free kick towards the top corner, but Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina was across to palm wide for a corner.

Napoli's clearest opening came on the 12th minute when Jose Callejon danced into the box, but his low strike was kept out by Antonio Mirante during what was an end-to-end period of the match.

It was Bologna that made the breakthrough, however, with Amadou Diawara delivering a pass into Mattia Destro, who shrugged off the challenge of two defenders before firing his effort into the top of the net.

The hosts continued to impress as the half developed and had their second in the 21st minute when Luca Rossettini headed a Brienza corner past Reina from close range.

Napoli had a golden chance to reduce the deficit 10 minutes before the break, but after Marek Hamsik set up Lorenzo Insigne inside the box, Mirante was on hand to make a wonderful point-blank save. Moments later, Callejon had an effort tipped onto the post as Bologna rode their luck in the latter stages of the first period.

As it stands, Bologna are moving out of the relegation zone in Italy's top flight, while Napoli are second in the table behind leaders Inter Milan.
