Luis Enrique makes nine changes to his starting lineup for the Copa del Rey clash with Hercules, with Javier Mascherano and Denis Suarez the only survivors.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has named an almost entirely fresh starting lineup for this evening's visit of Hercules in the Copa del Rey round of 32.

Denis Suarez and Javier Mascherano are the two survivors from the 4-1 victory over Espanyol in La Liga three days ago, as Enrique instead goes with his second-string side.

Enrique had already told star trio Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar to begin their winter breaks a few days early, despite the Catalan giants finding themselves level at 1-1 following last month's first leg.

Summer recruit Paco Alcacer is among the nine new faces in Barcelona's starting XI, seeking his first competitive goal since joining the club from Valencia for a sum of £25m.

There is a place in goal for former Ajax star Jasper Cillessen, meanwhile, who will be looking to impress this evening in the absence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Barcelona: Cillessen, Rakitic, Denis Suarez, Turan, Rafinha, Mascherano, Alcacer, Digne, Gomes, Vidal, Umtiti
Subs: Masip, Sergio, Iniesta, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto

Hercules: Buiges, Dalmau, Pena, Fernando Roman, Pol Bueso, Rojas, Chechu, Checa, Berrocal, Minano, Gaspar
Subs: Salinas, Edu Lledo, Nieto, Juanma Espinosa, David Mainz
