Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is reportedly close to signing a bumper new five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium after months of talks.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is close to signing a new long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium, according to reports.

The 28-year-old, who has been in fine form for the Gunners this season, has less than two years left on his current contract.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal have persuaded Ozil to commit his future to the club with a bumper new deal worth £160,000-per-week until 2021.

The Germany international, who joined the North London giants in the summer of 2013 for £42.5m, has been linked with a return to former club Real Madrid.
