How Manchester City could line up against Arsenal

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal.

Manchester City will be attempting to make the final of the FA Cup for the 12th time in their history when they take on Arsenal in the semi-finals of the competition on Saturday night.

Pep Guardiola's side are the holders of the trophy, having thrashed Watford 6-0 in last year's final.

City have already won the EFL Cup this season and are therefore chasing a domestic double, but they have fallen short in the Premier League this term with Liverpool already securing the title.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Citizens could line up at Wembley.

City are still missing Sergio Aguero following knee surgery, but Guardiola's side are otherwise in excellent shape when it comes to outfield injuries, handing their manager a dilemma when it comes to selecting a team.

Neither Kevin De Bruyne nor Aymeric Laporte were used against Bournemouth on Wednesday night but will return to the XI for this match, while Raheem Sterling will also be back in the starting side.

Claudio Bravo was expected to get the nod over Ederson between the sticks, having been City's FA Cup goalkeeper this season, but he has not been involved in his side's last two Premier League squads and was officially ruled out of the match by Guardiola on Friday.

Gabriel Jesus is again expected to lead the line in Aguero's absence, while Bernardo Silva could get the nod over Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden to feature in the final third of the field.

Guardiola is likely to be wary of Arsenal's attacking threat and could therefore include both Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan in midfield, with Fernandinho potentially reverting to central defence.

Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy, meanwhile, should start in the two full-back positions.
