Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says that his captain Sean Morrison has apologised for his foul-mouthed video rant aimed at Derby County players.

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed that captain Sean Morrison has apologised to him for recording a foul-mouthed video rant aimed at three Derby County players.

The controversial footage which surfaced on Twitter sees the Bluebirds skipper take aim at Rams players Richard Keogh, Alex Pearce and Jason Shackell, taunting them with an expletive-filled tirade.

Warnock has accepted his captain's apology and downplayed the incident as "banter".

"I've told him I'm disappointed with him and he's apologised," BBC Sport quotes the Cardiff head coach as saying.

"Even if it was in jest between two mates in a pub, there's certain language you shouldn't use and you can't condone that sort of thing. I think he understands that, he's really apologetic.

"Whilst I don't condone the language, which leaves a lot to be desired, our lads have got videos of them as well. It was between themselves, a lot of banter."

The Morrison video incident comes ahead of Derby's rearranged Championship clash with promotion rivals Cardiff later this month.
