Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists that the club are not planning any further signings in the summer transfer market.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that the club are "not considering anything else" in the transfer market at this moment in time.

Los Blancos have only made two signings during the summer window, with Antonio Rudiger arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea, while Aurelien Tchouameni has joined in a big-money deal from Monaco.

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of forwards, with the club said to be considering signing a back-up for Karim Benzema, but Perez has insisted that is not the case.

"We must continue to train well, [Carlo] Ancelotti has managed the squad, we are not considering anything else at the moment," Perez told Movistar after the UEFA Super Cup.

"Look at all the strikers we have, he (Benzema) won't get sick, but if he does, we have so many strikers that it won't be noticed. Ballon d'Or? In my opinion, he already deserved it last year and even more so this year.

"Ancelotti manages this squad very well, he is an important part of the success and we start this new season, which begins on Sunday with great enthusiasm. This year it is true that everything has gone well for us and no one can be dissatisfied, but we have to keep working, every day we work on our future."

Real Madrid won a Champions League and La Liga double last season, and they are already off the mark in terms of trophies for the new campaign, lifting the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0.

"We have had a good season and we are very excited about this Super Cup. First we have to make merits to reach the finals and then win them. We have a great team, it's a job well done," Perez said after the clash with Frankfurt, which was decided by goals from David Alaba and Benzema.

The Real Madrid president also commented on Barcelona's summer business, with the Catalan giants making a number of statement signings during the summer market.

"Barca... there are seasons that we all do better or worse but Barca is one of the most important institutions in the world along with Madrid, it has to return to being what it is and that is good for everyone, for world soccer," he added.

Barcelona have brought in Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde during a busy summer window, although they are facing a race against the clock to register their new signings for the start of the new campaign.

Real Madrid were widely expected to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but the France international instead decided to pen a new deal in the French capital.

There have also been a number of departures at Bernabeu ahead of the new season, with Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Isco, Luka Jovic, Victor Chust, Miguel Gutierrez, Takefusa Kubo and Borja Mayoral all moving on.

Los Blancos will begin their 2022-23 La Liga campaign away to newly-promoted Almeria on August 14, while they will also face Celta Vigo and Espanyol in the opening month of the new season.
