World Cup winner Jake White has confirmed that he would be interested in becoming the new coach of the England rugby team.
Former head coach Stuart Lancaster stood down from his role earlier today following the team's ignominious early exit from this year's Rugby World Cup on home soil.
Speculation has suggested that England could look abroad for their next coach, with the likes of Warren Gatland, Michael Cheika and Sir Graham Henry among the names linked to the post.
However, White, who won the World Cup with his native South Africa in 2007, beating England in both the pool stages and the final that year, was installed as the early favourite and has now confirmed his interest in the post, according to Sky Sports News.
The 52-year-old is currently in charge of French Top 14 side Montpellier.
