Australia scrum-half Will Genia has praised the progress made by the team since Michael Cheika took over as head coach.

The Wallabies experienced a turbulent time off the field towards the latter stages of Ewen McKenzie's tenure, resulting in his resignation and Cheika's subsequent appointment in 2014.

Cheika has since gone on to lead the team to Rugby Championship glory and second place at the Rugby World Cup following their 34-17 defeat at the hands of New Zealand this evening.

When asked about the impact Cheika has made, Genia told Sports Mole: "Incredible. It's been a great journey to be a part of this Wallaby team, this Wallaby group.

"The transformation from all the things that have gone on prior to his involvement, and just to change the perception to what it is now I think is incredible."

New Zealand's victory over Australia at Twickenham sees the All Blacks become the first side to successfully defend the trophy.
