Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the permanent signing of defender Mike Williamson from Newcastle United.

The centre-back rejoins the Championship side on an 18-month contract after impressing during a loan spell earlier this season.

Williamson told the club website: "I think it is sometimes difficult to explain but you can feel at home at a football club and feel comfortable as soon as you come in.

"That's with the players, the staff and the fans - I really enjoyed my month here and was always keen to come back."

Williamson is the second first-team capture in as many days after yesterday's arrival of Joe Mason from Cardiff City.

The Black Country club have also announced the signing of 17-year-old defender Hakeem Odofin from Barnet on a two-and-a-half year contract.
