Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says that his side deserved to win their feisty home encounter with Bristol City.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has insisted that his side deserved to take all three points after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Bristol City at Molineux last night.

A feisty encounter saw the Midlands side twice go in the lead before being pegged back by the Robins, who then took the lead themselves until skipper Danny Batth produced a late equaliser to salvage a point.

Two of City's goals came from set pieces and, speaking afterwards, Nuno vowed that those "clear mistakes" will be rectified in training.

"It was a good game of football, it had a bit of everything, but we're disappointed with the result," he told the Express & Star. "We showed character to fight back and put some justice in the result, this was very good. I thought we deserved to win.

"We made clear mistakes that produced the opponent's goals which we have to look at. On the game situations, the chances we created, we were the better team. But this is football, when you make mistakes you are punished.

"Football is not only character, sometimes you have to use your head and manage the situation. Set pieces is what we have to look at, to get better, we cannot afford to make these mistakes again."

Wolves are now fourth in the Championship table, three points behind leaders Leeds United.
