Watford head coach Javi Gracia says that his first-team squad have started to play with more "confidence and happiness" since his arrival at the club in January.

Watford head coach Javi Gracia has suggested that his side have started to play with more belief since his arrival at the club.

Gracia moved to Vicarage Road in January with Watford having failed to build on their strong start to the campaign, but the Hornets have registered seven points from their last four fixtures in the Premier League.

Watford are still only six points clear of the relegation zone, but Gracia has admitted that he has been impressed with the progression of his players in recent weeks.

The 47-year-old is quoted by the Watford Observer as saying: "I see my players every day and now I feel they have more confidence and happiness. We are taking points and it is very important for our job and we are in the process of getting better.

"We will see at the end of the season if we finish the season in the best way or if we do not get too many points. We will do our best and I feel in this moment that we are confident."

Watford play host to bottom-of-the-table West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
