Robbie Keane joins Teddy Sheringham at Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata

Republic of Ireland legend Robbie Keane joins Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata, who are managed by former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Teddy Sheringham.

Republic of Ireland legend Robbie Keane has completed a move to Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata.

The 37-year-old striker had been without a club since leaving MLS outfit Los Angeles Galaxy in November 2016, where he scored 104 times in 165 appearances.

Kolkata are managed by Teddy Sheringham, Keane's former strike partner at Tottenham Hotspur, who was appointed as the ISL club's head coach last month.

"The offer to experience a new league and culture in Asia appealed to me," Keane, who won 146 caps for Ireland, told BBC Sport.

Keane also previously played for the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool, West Ham United and Leeds United during his career in England.
