Swansea City will reportedly part ways with Carlos Carvalhal during the summer if their relegation from the Premier League is confirmed at the weekend.

Swansea City have allegedly decided not to renew the contract of manager Carlos Carvalhal.

On Tuesday night, Swansea's 1-0 defeat to Southampton left the club relying on Huddersfield Town losing their remaining two fixtures, but the Terriers' 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Wednesday has left the Welsh side on the brink of relegation.

Swansea now need to beat Stoke City and hope that Manchester City record a big win over Southampton to force a nine-goal swing, but according to the Daily Mail, the club's hierarchy are already putting plans in place to make a change in the dugout.

Carvalhal only penned a short-term deal in December, and Swansea will allegedly take the opportunity to make another switch in the dugout as they prepare for a overhaul in the summer.

The report also suggests that Carvalhal was not Swansea's first-choice target to replace Paul Clement at the end of 2017, with it being claimed that former boss Michael Laudrup was considered for a return to the Liberty Stadium.
