Atalanta BC reportedly want Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez as part of a deal for Cristian Romero.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez could reportedly be on his way to Atalanta BC as part of a deal for Cristian Romero.

Spurs are believed to be in discussions with Atalanta over a double swoop for Romero and goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, but the Serie A side have supposedly slapped a £47m price tag on the head of the former.

Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici are thought to be planning a defensive overhaul at Tottenham, with the likes of Sanchez, Eric Dier, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Toby Alderweireld reportedly all on the transfer list.

According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Romero is Tottenham's main target for the summer window, and Atalanta would be keen to secure the services of Sanchez in a part-exchange deal.

The Colombia international found it difficult to make his mark under Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason last season, starting just 17 Premier League games in the 2020-21 campaign.

Romero is technically still on loan at Atalanta from Juventus, but Gian Piero Gasperini's side are expected to trigger their buy option for the defender, who is also thought to be on Barcelona's radar.
