Belgium boss Roberto Martinez emerges as a candidate to become Tottenham Hotspur's next permanent manager, according to a report.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has reportedly emerged as a candidate to become Tottenham Hotspur's next permanent manager.

Spurs relieved Jose Mourinho of his duties earlier this week, with Ryan Mason placed in temporary charge of the North London club, who will face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final this weekend.

Athletic Bilbao's Marcelino and RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann have both been strongly linked with moves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent days.

According to Sport/Foot Magazine, Martinez has instructed his agent Pini Zahavi to find him a European club after the completion of this summer's European Championships.

The report claims that Tottenham have emerged as potential suitors for the 47-year-old, who has previously managed Swansea City, Wigan Athletic and Everton.

Martinez has only lost four of his 54 matches in charge of Belgium, recording 42 wins in the process, and he led the European nation to a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup.
