Chris Sutton tells Tottenham Hotspur's players "not to lose their heads" following the club's Champions League last-16 defeat to Juventus.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has told Tottenham Hotspur's players "not to lose their heads" following Wednesday night's Champions League exit.

Mauricio Pochettino's men relinquished the lead to lose 4-3 on aggregate to Juventus in the last-16 stage of the competition.

After fighting back to earn a 2-2 draw in Turin, Spurs were in a strong position heading into the second leg at Wembley.

Son Heung-min gave the North London outfit a 3-2 lead in the 39th minute during a dominating first-half display, but a switch to 4-4-2 by Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri in the second half changed the shape of the game and quick goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala sent the Italian giants into the quarter-finals.

After the final whistle, Sutton told BBC Radio 5 live: "The most important thing for Spurs is not to lose their heads. It's a disappointing defeat but it's important that there is no wild reaction. Keep this group together. They are building something special and it will come.

"Keep [Harry] Kane, keep [Dele] Alli, and keep the core of this team, and I'm sure they will win a trophy."

Tottenham have not picked up silverware since their 2007-08 EFL Cup final win.
