Sampdoria hosted Udinese in their Serie A match at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

The home side took the lead early on, when Eder scored from the spot.

Udinese's chances of getting back into the game suffered a blow when Allan Marques Loureiro was sent off.

After the break, Eder scored his second goal of the game, before Roberto Soriano was dismissed for the hosts.

The visitors were soon reduced to nine men, after Gabriel Silva picked up his second yellow card.

Daniele Gastaldello sealed the win with three minutes left to play, as he headed home following a free kick.

5.30pmGood evening and thank you for joining Sports Mole for live text commentary of the Serie A match between Sampdoria and Udinese at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

5.33pmUdinese sit just one place in the table above of Sampdoria, with two points separating the teams. Both managers will be desperate to pick up the three points this evening, to ease their relegation worries.

5.36pmSAMPDORIA XI: Da Costa, De Silvestri, Mustafi, Gastaldello, Costa, Palombo, Krsticic, Gabbiadini, Soriano, Wszolek, Eder

5.37pmUDINESE XI: Kelava, Heurtaux, Danilo, Domizzi, Basta, Allan, Pinzi, Silva, Pereyra, Maicosuel, Di Natale

5.39pmAntonio Di Natale starts his first league match for Udinese since announcing that he will retire at the end of the season. One of the main reasons his side have struggled has been his lack of goals, as he has found the net just four times in Serie A this season.

5.42pmSampdoria have been in good form under Sinisa Mihajlovic, and have not lost any of their home fixtures since his appointment. Their defeat to Napoli last weekend brought an end to their five game unbeaten run, which has seen them move towards a safe mid-table position.

5.45pmThe visitors are on a poor run having lost five of their past eight league matches, which has seen them drop to 14th in the table. They have struggled away from home this season, and have managed just two victories on the road, suffering six defeats in the process.

5.48pmPREDICTION: Sampdoria have played well in recent weeks and I expect them to recover from their defeat to Napoli in their last match this evening. Udinese have not been in good form and are one of the league's most inconsistent sides. There is no doubt they have quality in the team, but their defence has leaked goals in recent weeks. I think that the home side will edge this game 2-1.

5.52pmIf today's match is anything like last night's clash between Sassuolo and AC Milan then we will be in for a treat. The home side came from two goals down to claim a famous 4-3 win, with Domenico Berardi scoring all of their goals.

5.55pmThat defeat for Milan cost Massimiliano Allegri his job as manager, and a bad result tonight for Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin could result in a similar outcome given their recent performances.

5.58pmThe players are out and we are moments away from kick off, with the rain pouring down in Italy.

1 minKICKOFF! We are underway at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris!

1 minUdinese will have an early chance to get players into the box as Basta bursts down the right wing and forces a corner.

2 minThe set piece isn't the best and fails to beat the first man, with the home side regaining possession.

5 minDi Natale nearly latches onto a long ball over the top for the visitors, but it just out of his reach and the keeper comes out to claim.

7 minBasta is lucky to get away with a yellow card, following a late challenge on Costa. The conditions are making it hard for both teams to settle into this match, and we could see a few more mis-timed tackles as the evening progresses.

9 minGabbiadini has the first attempt on goal of the match, but fires his strike from just outside the box well wide.

11 minThe referee is still keeping his cards in his pockets this evening, as Pinzi receives just a warning for a tough tackle on Costa.

14 minBoth teams have found it hard to string a number of passes together and there is no real rhythm to their play so far. The ball has been given away a lot in the midfield in these early stages.

15 minYELLOW CARD AND PENALTY! The home side have won a penalty, after Kelava rushes out of his goal to try and stop Eder from latching onto a through ball, but he brings down the striker and the referee has no choice but to award the foul. The keeper is shown a yellow card for the challenge.

16 minGOAL! Sampdoria 1-0 Udinese (Eder)

16 minEder won the penalty, and has stepped up to slot the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net. The keeper dived the right way, but the strike was well-placed and just out of his reach.

18 minYELLOW CARD! Soriano picks up a booking for the home side after a handball.

20 minCHANCE! Sampdoria come within inches of doubling their lead. Costa whips in a wonderful cross from the left wing, and Soriano meets the ball with a glancing header, that just goes wide of the far post.

22 minCHANCE! Udinese have a headed chance of their own up the other end, when Domizzi gets free in the box to meet a free kick, but directs his attempt wide.

26 minThe visitors have responded well to going a goal down, and are pressing their opponents high up the pitch, and putting their defense under a lot of pressure to clear the ball quickly.

27 minYELLOW CARD! Allan is deservedly shown a card for a crunching late challenge on Eder. It was a really poor tackle and it's no wonder the Sampdoria bench are furious at the foul.

29 minYELLOW CARD! The bookings are starting to pile up in this match, as Silva is shown a yellow card for dragging down Eder.

32 minSampdoria look happy to pass the ball around and keep possession in the middle of the pitch, as they force Udinese deep inside their own half.

33 minYELLOW CARD! Krsticic is booked for the home side, after dragging down Pinzi, as the midfielder looked to break forward.

35 minRED CARD! Allan is sent off after picking up his second yellow card of the game for a late foul on Eder. That is a huge blow for his team, who have been desperately lacking in discipline since falling behind.

38 minThe hosts have seen all of the ball since the red card and Mihajlovic will surely want his team to press home their advantage before half time.

41 minDespite going down to 10 men, the visitors are still putting in a number of late, poor challenges, and I wouldn't bet against there being another sending off in this match.

45 minUdinese have not been able to find Di Natale very often this evening, but he comes within inches of latching onto a cross from the left hand side. When he is in your team, you always have a chance of grabbing a goal.

45 minWe are going to have one minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half.

45+1 minHALF TIME: Sampdoria 1-0 Udinese

6.48pmThe referee blows for half time, and Sampdoria have a narrow lead following Eder's penalty. Allan's red card has made Udinese's task of getting back into this game in the second half even harder, with a number of bookings disrupting the first 45 minutes.

6.53pmFrancesco Guidolin will be furious at Allan for that red card, which has given his team an uphill struggle for the second half. While there is only goal in the match he will know that this game isn't over yet.

6.57pmAs things stand, Sampdoria will move up to 12th in the table, while Udinese will slip to 15th. There is still a lot of football left to be played though, but the home side will be confident of three points this evening.

7pmThe players making their way back out onto the pitch and the second 45 minutes is just moments away.

46 minThe home side kick off and get the game back underway.

46 minSUBSTITUTION: Udinese make a change at the start of the half, with Badu replacing Maicosuel.

47 minGOAL! Sampdoria 2-0 Udinese (Eder)

47 minIt has taken the home side just over a minute of the second half to double their lead! Palombo pokes a ball through to Eder, who beats the offside trap, to slot past the keeper from close-range.

49 minThat was the start to the half that the visitors would not have wanted, and surely now their chances of getting back into this game are slipping out of their grasp.

51 minSampdoria are in complete control of this match now and the visitors can't get a foot on the ball. It would take a huge collapse for them to give away this lead.

52 minYELLOW CARD! Wszolek picks up the first booking of the second half for a late challenge.

55 minCHANCE! The home side have three chances in quick succession to score a third goal! Eder comes close to his hat-trick, when the keeper palms away his stinging drive. The rebound then falls to Silvestri who sees his first effort cleared off the line, before firing wide as the ball came back out to him.

59 minSampdoria have acres of space in which to exploit their opponents, and Costa tries to slide in Eder, but his ball is hit slightly too long and is cut out by the keeper.

61 minRED CARD! Both teams are down to 10 men as Soriano is given his second yellow card of the match. It was a harsh decision by the referee as he tried to get a shot away on the edge of the box, but ended up fouling the covering defender.

63 minThat sending off may prove to be the spark needed to get Udinese back into this match, and the home side may be in for a nevous finish.

64 minSampdoria feel they should be given a penalty after Heurtaux goes down inside the box following Krsticic's challenge. It seemed as if there was contact and his side are unlucky not to be given the spot kick.

65 minYELLOW CARD! Domizzi is the latest player to be booked by the referee.

69 minRED CARD! The referee has shown the third red card of the evening and Udinese are down to nine men, as Silva picks up his second yellow card of the night for an attempted elbow.

70 minCHANCE! Eder comes within inches of scoring his hat-trick, as he fires a dipping half-volley from outside the box just over the bar.

72 minSUBSTITUTION: Sampdoria make a change, with Renan replacing Krsticic.

75 minSampdoria are continuing to press for a third goal, and the visitors look completely deflated following their second red card of the evening.

77 minUdinese come forward on a rare attack, and Fernandes receives the ball in space just outside the box, but his final shot is poor, and goes high over the bar.

79 minWe have had a stoppage in play, as Renan receives treatment following an awkward fall.

82 minDanilo gives away a free kick on the edge of the box for after a tough tackle on Renan. He is lucky not to be booked, given the way the game has panned out tonight.

85 minSUBSTITUTION: There will be no hat-trick for Eder this evening, as Sansone replaces him for the last five minutes.

87 minSUBSTITUTION: Zielinski comes on for the closing stages for Udinese, replacing Di Natale.

87 minGOAL! Sampdoria 3-0 Udinese (Gastaldello)

87 minSampdoria have wrapped up the three points, as Gastaldello meets a free kick to glance a header past the reach of the keeper and into the top corner of the net.

90 minDomizzi nearly pulls a goal back for the away side, but after getting on the end of a long free kick, he directs a header wide of the post.

90 minThere are going to be three minutes of stoppage time.

90+3 minFULL TIME: Sampdoria 3-0 Udinese

7.53pmThe referee blows the whistle and Sampdoria have run out comfortable winners in a game that has seen three red cards. The victory has moved the home side above Udinese in the table and eased their relegation worries.

7.55pmThat's all we have got time for here. Please stay with us at Sports Mole for more Serie A football, as Inter Milan take on Chievo at the San Siro!
