Roma signalled their title ambitions by earning a 2-1 victory over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico.
Miralem Pjanic almost broke the deadlock in the first half when his powerful strike crashed against the post.
The Bosnian did manage to hit the back of the net just after the hour mark with a curling free kick that found the top corner.
Patrice Evra was then sent off for the visitors for a second bookable offence, before Edin Dzeko headed Roma into a two-goal lead.
Paulo Dybala soon pulled a goal back for Juventus with a close-range finish, and they were denied an equaliser in stoppage time when Wojciech Szczesny kept out Leonardo Bonucci's header.

4.33pmThe Bianconeri were stunned in their opening Serie A match last week, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Udinese. It saw their unbeaten league run at the Juventus Stadium come to an end after 47 matches and has led many to question whether they can deliver a fifth league title in a row.
4.36pmRoma were also in action on the opening day of the campaign and they made the trip to face Hellas Verona. They did slip a goal behind just after the hour mark, but a well-taken strike from Alessandro Florenzi helped them to earn a 1-1 draw.

3 minReferee Nicola Rizzoli is going to have his hands full this afternoon, as there has already been some crunching tackles flying in already. The Roma fans were also shouting for a penalty inside the opening 30 seconds when Florenzi appeared to be caught by Mandzukic inside the box, but their appeals were turned down.
5 minCHANCE! Juventus are looking poor at the back in these early stages and Roma have already forced a couple of corners. From their latest set piece, the ball is allowed to come all the way through to Keita at the back post, but the Malian can only drag his low strike wide of the target.
8 minCHANCE! It's another chance for Roma, as Pogba is robbed of possession deep inside his own half by Salah. The ball is then played to Falque, who works some room and fires in a powerful drives that goes just inches wide of the top corner.
11 minSHOT! Salah scored a memorable goal against Juventus for Fiorentina last season and he picks the ball up inside his own half before bursting forward. Instead of taking on a shot himself, he then plays it to the right for Florenzi who had made up plenty of ground. The Italian has teammates in the middle, but decides to drive a shot towards the far corner, but he doesn't catch it properly and it causes no problems for Buffon.
13 minJuventus have started to see more of the ball in their opponents' half over the past few minutes and a dangerous cross from the left picks out Mandzukic at the back post. He takes a great first touch and sets himself to shoot, but Digne gets back in time to nick it off his feet and put the ball behind, although a goal kick is given much to the striker's disgust.
16 minIt has been a very open start to the match, but we are still waiting for either keeper to make a save. Roma are getting plenty of joy in the wide areas at the moment, but whenever they deliver it into the box they are finding a wall of Juventus defenders, who seem to have recovered from their shaky start.
19 minRoma are dominating the possession at the moment, with Juventus happy to sit back and allow them time on the ball. The visitors set up in the same way in their match here last season, and relied mainly on their threat on the counter attack.
22 minYELLOW CARD! The first booking of the match goes to Pogba for dragging back Salah.
24 minOFF THE POST! Roma are inches away from breaking the deadlock as Pjanic fires a superb strike from the edge of the box beyond the reach of Buffon and against the the frame of the post. Just moments before Dzeko was almost on the end of a great low cross by Falque, but he was unable to get a touch on the ball.
27 minThe visitors are really struggling to keep hold of the ball in the centre of the pitch and Pogba has not been at his best. Of course it is an area that they have lost key players this summer, and any team would miss the likes of Pogba and Vidal.
30 minRoma have pushed their full-backs into some advanced areas in this first half, as they look to support Salah and Falque down the flanks. Digne has already shown some neat touches down the left, while Florenzi has plenty of pace to trouble Evra.
33 minWe haven't seen as many crunching tackles as I would have thought at the start of the match, but Chiellini goes in hard on the back of Pjanic and leaves the Roma player on the ground. The fans are up on their feet and screaming for a card, but Rizzoli keeps his control of the match and decides against cautioning him.
37 minYELLOW CARD! This time the referee is quick to show a card as Chiellini flies in with another poor tackle on Pjanic. The players then surround the referee, but there can be no complaints about the decision.
39 minSAVE! Pjanic is capable of the spectacular and he goes for goal from the resulting free kick which must be about 35 yards out. He gets plenty of power on the strike, but Buffon sees it all the way and collects with ease.
42 minIt doesn't look as if we will see any goals before the break, and at the moment Juventus will probably be the happier of the two teams. They have not shown enough threat in the final third to trouble their opponents, and they could easily be a goal down at this stage.

50 minSHOT! This would have come against the run of play as Juventus fashion a chance. A corner is whipped to the back post and poorly cleared by the Roma defence. The ball then drops kindly to Caceres on the edge of the box, but the defender hammers his strike high and wide of the goal.
53 minAlthough Roma are completely dominating the possession, they are struggling to carve out any decent openings. They are able to get deep inside the Juventus half, before seeing their attacks break down due to the large amount of opposition players behind the ball.
56 minPogba has got to watch himself as he pulls back Salah just outside the box and gives away a free kick. He then seems to react angrily to the decision, which is not the smartest as he is already on a yellow card.
57 minCHANCE! Pjanic has come closer than anybody to scoring today and he has another decent opportunity here. He is picked out inside the box by Dzeko and manages to turn and fire in a low strike, but it is too close to Buffon, who is down quickly to make a simple save.
