Returning Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists that "there will be changes in the summer" as Los Blancos look to improve on what has been a poor season.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that "there will be changes in the summer".

Zidane returned to the Bernabeu last week and the Frenchman led Los Blancos to a 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday afternoon.

Madrid are still nine points off La Liga leaders Barcelona, though, and have been eliminated from both the Copa del Rey and Champions League in recent weeks.

The likes of Chelsea's Eden Hazard, Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen and Manchester United's David de Gea have all been linked with moves to the Bernabeu.

Zidane has refused to reveal which players will leave and arrive, but the 46-year-old has hinted at a big summer for the European champions.

"There will be changes in the summer, but at the moment I cannot say more than that," Zidane told reporters.

"I have a squad of 23-25 players, and I will not be here after each of our remaining games and stating who will stay and who will leave. In the summer we will look at the situation and make decisions."

Madrid announced last week that they had secured the signature of 21-year-old defender Eder Militao from Porto ahead of this summer's transfer window.
