Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane vows that his side are still hungry for more success after adding another UEFA Super Cup crown to their collection.

Zinedine Zidane has praised the "great character and hunger" shown by his Real Madrid players to get themselves over the line in their UEFA Super Cup meeting with Manchester United.

Los Blancos saw their two-goal lead cut in half at the Philip II Arena on Tuesday night to set up a potentially nervy finish in the curtain-raising fixture of the new European campaign.

Goals from Casemiro and Isco in either half ultimately proved to be enough for Madrid, though, seeing them add yet another honour to last season's La Liga and Champions League crowns with a well-earned 2-1 win.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Zidane insisted that there is still more to come from his men after claiming their third Super Cup in four years.

"We know we've got a lot of talent and that with hard work we can achieve great things," he said. "We're very hungry, we always want more.

"It was a near-perfect performance. The first half was fantastic and then we struggled a bit at the end of the second. If we'd have got the third goal, that would have been it. We showed great character and hunger.

"There were great celebrations in the dressing room, that's normal, we never get tired of winning. We controlled things where they are very strong, such as second balls, the high balls. We pressed high and didn't allow them to play. We made it count with the ball and stayed calm. The team's overall commitment is crucial as well."

Madrid now turn their attention to a Spanish Super Cup double header against rivals Barcelona, beginning with Sunday's first leg at Camp Nou.
