Liverpool reportedly consider a move for Hartlepool United teenager Connor Simpson, who is yet to sign a professional deal at the Victoria Ground.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Hartlepool United teenager Connor Simpson this summer.

The 17-year-old, who has been compared to England forward Andy Carroll, played twice for Hartlepool last season as the club were relegated from League Two.

Simpson is yet to sign a professional contract at the Victoria Ground, and according to The Mirror, Liverpool are closely monitoring developments as they consider swooping for the powerful centre-forward.

The report adds that Newcastle United have also been impressed with Simpson's development.

Liverpool will face German side Hoffenheim in the first leg of their Champions League playoff on Tuesday night, and unsettled Brazilian Philippe Coutinho has not been included in Jurgen Klopp's 22-man squad amid interest from Barcelona.
