Result: PSV Eindhoven beat Ajax to reclaim Eredivisie title

PSV Eindhoven are crowned Dutch champions for a third time in four seasons with a 3-0 win over closest challengers Ajax at the Philips Stadion.

PSV Eindhoven have defeated nine-man Ajax 3-0 at the Philips Stadion to win the Eredivisie title for a third time in four seasons.

The Boeren got the job done against the 33-time champions with goals from Gaston Pereiro, Luuk de Jong and Steven Bergwijn.

Second-placed Ajax are now 10 points behind their opponents and unable to catch them with just three games left to play.

A bright start saw Pereiro help the ball over the line a quarter of the way through the match, before De Jong converted from Joshua Brenet's cross 15 minutes later.

The third arrived through Bergwijn early in the second half, as he poked the ball home to make certain of the three points and another title success.

Ajax's afternoon went from bad to worse late on, with Nicolas Tagliafico earning a second yellow card and Siem De Jong being shown a straight red for a studs-up challenge.
