Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer is reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven striker and former Newcastle United loanee Luuk de Jong.

Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in signing PSV Eindhoven striker Luuk de Jong, according to reports.

The 26-year-old scored 32 goals in all competitions during the 2015-16 campaign, but struggled last season with only nine strikes.

According to the Daily Mail, new Eagles manager Frank de Boer has identified the squad's front line as an area that needs improving, and believes that his compatriot fits the bill at Selhurst Park.

De Jong was missing from the PSV squad that travelled to Germany for Sunday's friendly with Augsburg, which the report suggests is a sign that the Dutch marksman might be on the way out of the club.

A product of the De Graafschap academy, De Jong has previously played in England for Newcastle United.
