Referee Mike Dean is not given a Premier League game this weekend following his controversial penalty calls.

Referee Mike Dean has not been given a Premier League game to officiate this weekend following his controversial penalty decisions.

The match official awarded spot kicks to Stoke City and Crystal Palace in separate matches for grappling in the box, which comes under the new referee rules.

Referees have been told to be stricter on pushing and shirt-pulling when players are defending set pieces, but two of Dean's decisions were discussed by governing body PGMOL, according to The Mirror.

Dean has been refereeing in the top flight since 2000.
