Alan Shearer: 'Newcastle United not learned lessons'

Alan Shearer says that Newcastle United have "not learned lessons" after their relegation to the Championship is confirmed.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has conceded that the club have "not learned lessons" following their relegation to the Championship.

Having been in temporary charge of Newcastle when they were last relegated in 2009, Shearer has insisted that no improvements have been made.

Newcastle's relegation has poured doubt on the future of manager Rafael Benitez, who has a release clause in his contract.
