Marcus Rashford plays down injury concerns

Manchester United and England striker Marcus Rashford plays down concerns that he could miss the opening match of the World Cup due to a knee injury.

Manchester United and England striker Marcus Rashford has played down concerns that he could miss the opening game of the World Cup with a knee injury.

Rashford missed England's first training session in Russia after picking up a knock before the team flew out for this summer's tournament, raising doubts over his involvement against Tunisia on June 18.

However, the 20-year-old has insisted that the problem is only a minor one and is confident that he will be available for the match in Volgograd.

Rashford is a contender to start against Tunisia following a man-of-the-match display in England's final warm-up game against Costa Rica.
