Manchester United and Derby County agree to cancel James Wilson's loan deal due to the striker's injury woes.

Manchester United and Derby County have mutually agreed to cancel James Wilson's loan deal.

The 21-year-old, who came through the Red Devils' academy, joined the Championship outfit at the start of the season on a temporary spell.

However, the striker was dealt a huge blow when he suffered a serious knee injury in October, which forced him back to United for surgery.

The loan deal has now been scrapped, with Wilson having made just three starts for the Rams and one appearance off the substitutes' bench.

Derby said in a statement on their official website: "Derby County would like to take this opportunity to wish James a successful return to fitness and every success in the future."

Wilson has made 15 Premier League appearances for United since making his first-team debut in 2014.
