Manchester United are reportedly preparing to place an £84m offer on the table for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
United are widely expected to move for a new centre-back this summer, with Ajax teenager Matthijs de Ligt believed to be a target for the 20-time English champions.
However, the Red Devils have also long been linked with Koulibaly, who is said to have a £110m release clause in his current deal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are preparing to offer £84m for the 27-year-old, who arrived at Napoli from Genk in the summer of 2014 and has since become one of the most highly-rated defenders in world football.
Real Madrid and Juventus have also been linked with a swoop for the Senegal international.
