Mata reveals Man Utd's end-of-season

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata suggests that the team are taking the season one game at a time as they reach the closing stages.

Juan Mata has claimed that he and his Manchester United teammates are taking the remainder of the season game by game.

Jose Mourinho's side - like the majority of their competitors - fell away in the Premier League title race earlier in the campaign due to Manchester City's dominance.

The North-West outfit's only hope of winning silverware this season is in the FA Cup, as they crashed out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage.

United will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, but Mata is not getting ahead of himself.

In his weekly blog, the midfielder wrote: "Having a look at the calendar I see that there are only nine games remaining, hopefully 10, because that will mean that we made it to the FA Cup final which will take place at Wembley on the 19th of May. So that's our goal - playing ten games from here to the end of the season.

"The first one is next Saturday, back to the Premier League. We will play at Old Trafford against Swansea [City] and a victory would be very important to show that we want to maintain our position at the table. Then, we will have plenty of time to think about the derby and the rest of the games ahead."

United have suffered one defeat in their last seven games in all competitions.
