How Manchester United could line up against Cardiff City

Ahead of the game between Manchester United and Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon, Sports Mole looks at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could line up at Old Trafford.

Manchester United play host to relegated Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon in their final match of the 2018-19 Premier League season.

A run of four matches without a win in the top flight leaves United with little left to play for on the face of it, as they can no longer finish in the top four.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the decision to integrate a number of young players into first-team training this week, but the Norwegian may still elect to field an experienced side against his former club to avoid further embarrassment.

Solskjaer has revealed that he plans to give Antonio Valencia a special send-off in his final match as a United player, possibly meaning a rare start for the long-serving wideman.

Angel Gomes, James Garner, Greenwood and Tahith Chong are among those to have trained with the first team this week, and the latter - who has already been used four times this season - is in line for a start.

Ander Herrera has also confirmed that this will be his final game for United, which could see him get the nod in midfield, while fellow Spaniards David de Gea and Juan Mata face uncertain futures.

In the likely absence of Lukaku up top, Marcus Rashford - one of just a few United players able to hold their head up high this term - appears certain to lead the line.
