A report claims that Juventus are to shelve their plans to sign Ere Can from Liverpool until next summer, when he will be available as a free agent.

Juventus are reportedly no longer interested in signing Emre Can from Liverpool this summer after getting their hands on Blaise Matuidi.

The Serie A champions managed to get a deal over the line for France international Matuidi on Friday, handing over £18m to land him from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to The Sun that has had a direct impact on their pursuit of Can, who has been repeatedly linked with a switch to Turin in recent months.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitted earlier this week that he is unsure whether the 23-year-old will extend his deal at Anfield, with less than 12 months to run on his current terms.

The same report suggests that Juve could pounce on this uncertainty by returning for Can next year, however, when he will be able to swap clubs as a free agent.
