Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino criticises Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff for their touchline antics in Tuesday's EFL Cup clash.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has criticised Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and his backroom team for their touchline antics during Tuesday night's EFL Cup clash at Anfield.

Pochettino found it "strange" that the Liverpool dugout complained about a tackle by Harry Winks after one of their own youngsters Trent Alexander-Arnold avoided a red card for a foul on Ben Davies.

The hosts were also unimpressed when referee Jon Moss gave a penalty to Spurs after Lucas caught Erik Lamela, while the visitors argued that they should have had a second spot kick when Alberto Moreno tussled with the Argentine in the area.

After the match, which ended 2-1 in Liverpool's favour, Pochettino told reporters: "I think it was strange that at the end of the game they started to complain.

"The full-back, Alexander-Arnold, should have been sent off for his tackle. It was strange when their bench started to complain with another bench.

"It is the referee's authority to say if it was a penalty or not. It was strange. They complained about a normal game. Maybe, yes, they were lucky to finish with 11 players."

Daniel Sturridge scored both of Liverpool's goals, while Vincent Janssen struck from the penalty spot.
