How Liverpool could line up against Napoli

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for their must-win Champions League showdown with Napoli at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Anfield is sure to be rocking on Tuesday night when Liverpool welcome Napoli in a must-win Champions League showdown.

The Reds need to win either 1-0 or by two clear goals to seal their place in the last 16, which could leave three teams locked on nine points at the top of Group C.

In that scenario it would be Liverpool who go through as group winners due to the three-way head-to-head record, leaving their fate still in their own hands despite their precarious placement in the group.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Jurgen Klopp could set his side up for the crunch match.

Possible LIV XI vs. NAP

Out: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Joe Gomez (ankle), Nathaniel Clyne (unspecified)
Doubtful: Dejan Lovren (concussion), Adam Lallana (head), Dominic Solanke (groin)

Klopp has experimented with a few different formations in recent months, but Sadio Mane's return to fitness after suffering a cut to his foot could result in a switch back to 4-2-3-1.

Xherdan Shaqiri has played his way into Klopp's thinking on a regular basis and should join Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah - the latter of whom hit a hat-trick at the weekend - in the front four.

Jordan Henderson will also be expecting to return to the side, although the skipper faces stiff competition from the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Naby Keita and James Milner.

Milner played at right-back against Bournemouth but Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to return in that role for this match, while Joel Matip will continue in the middle if Dejan Lovren fails to recover from concussion in time.

Adam Lallana sustained a head injury during his cameo against Bournemouth and so is a doubt, although he is unlikely to make the starting lineup even if he is passed fit to play.
