Jose Gonzalez takes charge of Granada

Jose Gonzalez replaces Jose Ramon Sandoval as the new head coach of La Liga strugglers Granada.

Granada have acted swiftly to fill their managerial vacancy.

Jose Ramon Sandoval was relieved of his duties in the wake of Sunday's 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Gary Neville's Valencia.

The role has now gone to Jose Gonzalez on a deal until the end of the campaign.

Gonzalez, 49, has inherited a side that are second from bottom in La Liga, four points from safety.

The Spaniard has previously coached Albacete, Real Murcia, Cordoba and Cadiz.
