Promoting safer and more responsible gambling is the United Kingdom's policy and when it comes to protecting players about gambling harms, Gamstop is the most reputed scheme. Gamstop is, in fact, an organism that allows the players to limit their gambling activity on the licensed gambling platforms. With this self-exclusion programme, the consumers are required first to register at Gamstop and decide the period of time they want to be banned.

From March 31st, 2020, the UK Gambling Commission required online gambling sites to participate and permit their customers to use Gamstop. Today, this voluntary service extends its partnership and has signed deals with several entities. Here are the top Gamstop partners:

Luton Town FC
In March 2020, Luton Town FC announced a new partnership with Gamstop. This collaboration is the involvement of this football club to encourage responsible gambling. In fact, Luton Town FC, also known as the Hatters, is among the oldest football clubs as it was founded in 1885. Since Gamstop is a service to help compulsive gamblers, this alliance is an opportunity to raise the public awareness of the gambling-related problems.

In this collaboration, more people will be able to prevent gambling harms while online betting with non-Gamstop sites and will be aware of the duties of Gamstop. The programme of this self-exclusion service will be introduced across Luton Town FC's website, social networks, and on some selected matchdays. As Gamstop has worked hard to make its scheme secure, trusted, and independent, this collaboration with the Hatters is an opportunity to obtain more effective results.

Gamban
Gamban and Gamstop have the common goal to support anyone affected by problem gambling. Since both intertwine their efforts to enhance their schemes and to reach their goals, it is not surprising that they signed partnerships. Gamban is, actually, software for blocking online gambling platforms and applications.

This app was created in 2015 by the independent organisation called GambleAware. This latter is, in fact, a renowned charity that helps and funds education, treatment, and research services associated with gambling in the UK. Similar to Gamstop, Gamban is a blocker for those who experience gambling-related harms. They have to download this app and can ban themselves from the websites of their choice. Today, Gamstop and Gamban require all the UK- based gambling sites to permit their customers to download the apps.

Boro
Middlesbrough Football Club, known also as Boro signed a partnership with Gamstop in the goal to make this self-exclusion scheme more effective. This cooperation is the latest step in MFC's involvement to foster safer gambling and the club is the first to support Responsible Gambling Week in the UK. In this alliance, raising awareness of gambling addiction will be entailed across the Boro's website and social channels.

This strategy will ensure that those who need Gamstop will be able to know how to access this tool. According to Fiona Palmer, chief executive of Gamstop, Working with Middlesbrough Football Club would be a huge advantage in helping this independent organism to reach the consumers who most need to be aware of Gamstop's objective.

Since the coronavirus lockdown has obliged people to stay at home and lead them to gamble too much, vulnerable players may experience gambling related-issues. Thus, Gamstop is a greater protection for them.

Data Shed
The non-profit organization Gamstop adds 18 months to the existing agreement with Data Shed. This Leeds-based firm's data and technology business signed the first alliance with Gamstop in June 2018 and now, their partnership will continue for 18 months. As Gamstop has become an obligation for all the UK-based online gambling operators, Data Shed has helped this organism to reach its goal.

In this cooperation, this Leeds-based Data Shed will continue to help and support this self-exclusion scheme through its data and technology services. Actually, The Data Shed is a company founded in 2014 by Sutton and Ed Thewlis. The firm focuses on analytical projects and data integration for the customers and it also includes Hermes, the Tate Galleries Group, and Qantas. As stated by Anna Sutton, CEO and co-founder of Data Shed, it was a pride for the company to help Gamstop via the firm's services.

UKGC
The UKGC is the gambling regulator in the United Kingdom which has implemented various policies to make the gambling safer and fairer. Apart from enforcing regulations to minimize the gambling problems in this territory, this government body also supports the Gamstop's programme. As the online gambling legislation is overseen by the UKGC, releasing the scheme to help people who experience and may develop gambling problems is also among its policies.

In January 2020, this powerful entity required all the UK- based gambling operators to participate in this self-exclusion programme from 31st March 2020. The gambling operators who are discovered for failure to participate with Gamstop will surely be penalized.
